Why not Explore and Enjoy the Hertigage History Culture and Wildlife of the Local Offshore Rosses Islands? Two Summer Outings have been arranged for Sat 14th July and Sat 11th August 2012.
RUTLAND- INISHFREE- INISHCAORACH -ARRANMORE
Schedule:
10:30: Depart Burtonport Pier by Car Ferry to Inishfree. Guided Tour and Walk to Explore History and Culture of Inishfree and Inishsáile Islands.
12:00: Depart Inishfree Island For Rutland. Guided Tour of History, Culture and Wildlife of Rutland Island by Manus Boyle, local Historian.
Light Refreshment of Tea and Homemade bread will be provided in front of an Open Turf Fire, followed by a Talk and Unveiling of a Plaque to Commemorate Napper Tandy’s Visit to Rutland Island during the 1798 Rebellion. (Sat 11th August).
3:00: Depart Rutland for Inishcaorach. Guided Tour of Island and talk by Johnny Rodgers, Inishcaorach native, exploring the History and way of Iife of original Islanders.
4:00: Depart Iniscaorach for Arranmore Island. Guided Bus Tour of Arranmore, exploring the History and Heritage and Local Places of Interest, followed by a Generous Buffet and Historial Talk by Sean Bonner (Donegal Historical Society) in the Glen Hotel.
8:00 Car Ferry Departs for Burtonport.
Overnight Visitors:
An Accomodation List is available on request for those wishing to stay overnight at own expense. Live music will be provided in local hostelrys.
A Ferry will also Depart for Burtonport at 1.00 on Sunday.
( Burtonport Heritage Walk can be arranged for those Departing on Sunday, (€5 per person, under 16 free), all proceeds, go to the Burtonport Heritage Group)
